Tio/ Caro Martinez (Cousin) Tio, Tia, y Heather: The other day we were remembering when Mark was just a young boy. The thing that we remember the most was that whenever his team lost a games he would get home really mad, so he would throw his glove and start screaming and crying. An other that I dont remember but my mom does was when you(tio) had a raw animal heart (im not sure what kind) and Mark descided to eat it raw. Mark thought it was really good, you know how he loved meat. well i got more memories but ill leave those for an other day. We ate pizza last summer three or four times after a softball game - Mark was such a gentleman at heart! Oh what a dear friend he was to Ryan, and likewise your family was my son's other family when he couldn't be with his own. I’m so, so very sorry for your loss. I cannot even begin to comprehend what this is like for you and your family. I moved to Reno in the middle of my junior year and didn’t get to meet Mark until my senior year, when I joined the cheer team. I also remember interviewing him a few times for the school newspaper. He was always someone I looked forward to seeing, because I knew that no matter how I was feeling, after I hung out with Mark, I’d always feel better. He just had this amazing ability to make me feel like I was the only person in the room. Thank you for raising such a wonderful person. I know there are so many people that miss him Close

We'll never forget Mark's basketball game at McQueen when he hit those seven 3-pointers in one game. You guys were so proud of him and he was so thrilled. Memories like these will keep Mark's spirit alive in so many people. Just the other day I was messing around with old VCR tapes and came across Clayton vs Billinghurst. Those boys were so young and skinny, and, yes, Clayton still won the game. We are so saddened by Mark's death and send you many hugs and kisses Close

I am very sorry to hear of Mark's passing. There were many great kids at McQueen when I was Priincipal and Mark was one of them. He took great pride in McQueen, was active in many things, but most important, he was a nice kid and a wonderful human being. It was a privilege knowing you Mark and watching you grow up. mark was a good friend of mine for the short time i knew him. i met him and then we just got along really well after that. he was one of my brothers good friends so that was another reason y we got along well. the night before he passed away... we had made plans to go to my brothers bands show that was comming up together. i was stoked!! the the next day my friend derek told me the bad news. i was in a depressing shock, didnt know what to do think or say. mark was always the one that brightened up the room when he walked in with him great smile. made everyones day that much better when he came around.

What a beautiful tribute to your son Mark. Thank you for sharing this loving site. My Erin has fond memories of her time with Mark and Heather at Sierra Bible Camp. She had not seen Mark for years but ran into him shortly before his passing. She was having a windshield replaced and he was working there. They talked a while and caught up on things. I am so thankful that they saw eachother. I continue to hold you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Robin: You have done such an amazing job with this website. I love to visit it and I often do. It tells such a beautiful story of your lives and the the wonderfull young man that Mark was, oh yea and what a cute kid and awesome athlete.
